Aggies Without Limits-NMSU partnered with Bridges to Prosperity, Rotary Club of Alamogordo, and the Community of La Trinidad to provide a suspended pedestrian bridge for the community of Oyanca, Nicaragua. A total of 18 students, 2 faculty members, and 3 alumni were sent to construct a 64 meter (211 feet) bridge to span the Rio Oyanca. The team spent three weeks working side by side with the community excavating, hoisting cable, mixing concrete, and laying the wood decking. The bridge serves over 100 families. The daily trip up the mountain will live in everyone’s consciousness for years to come.
