The first time AWL was there, students worked with Colonias Development Council on a project at the local Community Center. The project involved harvesting rainfall from the 2500 sq-ft community center roof and storing the water in a 3000-gallon tank.
In 2016, AWL went to Anthony to help re-establish locally grown, healthy, whole, and affordable foods, provided by La Semilla, into the community. A systematic rain catcher was designed. It's purpose was to reintroduce water to the crops as a proactive solution for drought conditions.
