Foxhole Homes Research Project

Alamogordo, NM

In the summer of 2016 Aggies Without Limits partnered up with Foxhole Homes, an organization in Alamogordo, New Mexico, to help establish a community for homeless veterans. Foxhole Homes is promoting positive accountability through sustainable development, all while providing homes for veterans suffering from PTSD in the community. For the project, AWL analyzed two different building methods, adobe and rammed earth using the soil found at the site. This research will help determine which of the two building styles is best suitable for the needs of this community.

These homes are made from recycled materials, and will cost about 100 dollars in utilities per year. AWL is continuing communication with Foxhole Homes, and plans to aid in their mission. Foxhole Homes and AWL are not able to complete these projects without the help of sponsors and support from community members.
